Dancing in the Streets!
Well, in our case, it was more like dancing in the office
when we received the news that Pulliam Pools was selected as 1999 "National
Builder of the Year" by our peers in the "Industry Choice Awards" by
Pool & Spa News.
This award is a special honor in the industry. Voters
are asked to consider six criteria when making their decision: design skills,
construction expertise; sales and marketing techniques; business practices;
customer satisfaction; and community service.

Weather Wise - Well, it's that time of year again. Not quite
winter, not quite spring, not really time to break out the shorts and sandals
(but definitely time to think about putting that swimsuit on again!) Ever
wish you had a crystal ball to figure out the Texas weather? Or at least
some way to tell what to pack on your spring vacation? According to AQUA
magazine, the following internet sites are almost as good as having your
own full-time weatherman:
National Weather Service - www.nws.noaa.gov
- This arm of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the
federal government provides direct access to official U.S. weather forecasts
and observations, including radar and satelitte imaging.
Old Farmers Alamanc - www.almanac.com
-The original long-range weather forecaster gives visitors to its web site
detailed forecasts for the next two months (but for the complete 12-month
forecast you still need to purchase the Almanac.)
CNN.com - www.cnn.com/weather
- Leave it to the people who bring us up-to-the-minute news to bring us
up-to-the-minute weather conditions. Besides current weather maps, this
site's Storm Center alerts users to severe weather, while the Business
Traveler's Advisory area lets the savvy traveler research weather conditions
before leaving home.
The Weather Channel - www.weather.com
- This site is just like the cable station, but much more interactive.
In addition to local and world weather maps and forecasts, this site contains
holiday planners, weather facts and headlines, as well as this past century's
worst storms.
Of course, we all know that
nothing can really guarantee what Mother Nature has up her sleeves,
but at least these sites might give you a fighting chance of knowing what
you
should
have on your sleeves!
