IN POOL TECHNOLOGY |

The Pulliam family's
three generations of pool builders -
Theo, Doren, and Barry - Easter 1954. |
| Back in 1916, there was
no such thing as a "swimming pool contractor." If you wanted a pool, you
would call a "cement contractor." Because Theo Pulliam had built many waterproof
cattle dipping vats, he was asked to build the first swimming pool ever
in Coryell County. Doren Pulliam remembers carrying drinking water to the
laborers when his dad built the Gatesville Public Park pool in 1925.
Doren Pulliam later was responsible for many "firsts"
on his own. Using his background in the U.S. Navy Construction Batallion,
he became an innovator of modern pool construction and technology. When
he purchased the first gunite rig in Tarrant County in 1948, he developed
the engineering and structural design standards which are still in use
today.
Third generation pool builder Barry Pulliam has
been active in the business since age 10 and literally learned about pools
from the ground up. Following his family's tradition, Barry continues to
innovate and experiment to provide customers with a carefree, low maintenance
swimming pool. To stay on the leading edge of technology, Barry accepted
an invitation to join the prestigious AQUATECH group in February, 1988.
AQUATECH is a 30 year old national organization of quality pool builders
known throughout the industry for their integrity and dedication to craftsmanship.
Since only one pool builder is selected from each market area, members
are able to share research data which encourages technological innovation.
The "pioneer spirit" is alive and well at Pulliam
Pools. Electronic remote controls, unique interior pool finishes, and chlorine
generators are examples of products offered by Pulliam Pools as a result
of recent product testing. |

| In 1993, and again in 1996,
1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000 Pulliam Pools was selected as an AQUA
100 company. The AQUA 100 program recognizes excellence in the swimming
pool industry among those who consistently demonstrate quality workmanship,
dedication to customer satisfaction, community involvement, and
industry leadership. Being named to AQUA 100 is one of the highest
honors a pool company can receive because the 100 nationwide winners
are chosen by industry peers from thousands of competitors. Pulliam
Pools was inducted into the 2001 AQUA Hall of Fame for consistent
commitment to excellence. |
