Design Team

clark.jpg (27840 bytes)Mike Clark, Design Team Leader, CPO (Certified Pool Operator) - We are fortunate that Mike has spent 23 of his 29 years of experience designing custom pools for Pulliam Pools.  Mike's architectural training blends perfectly with his construction background, making him the ideal choice for Team Captain.  Mike's duties as Captain include assisting the other designers and reviewing each and every plan before construction begins.

Bart Smith, Sales Training Manager, CPO (Certified Pool Operator) - Bart's background also includes multiple facets of pool experience. His 18 years of sun room, spa and pool construction expertise was put to use by former Dallas Cowboy Jay Novacek when Bart created Jay's backyard resort in 1998. Celebrating his 15th anniversary this year, Bart (also our team roping authority) built his own Pulliam Pool among the mesquite trees and cows in his Cleburne backyard. Bart was recently promoted because of his positive attitude, great work ethic, and his continued representation of Pulliam Pools. Bart typically works out of our Granbury office location.

Jay Canada, Designer, CPO (Certified Pool Operator) - With an impressive 35 years in the construction industry, which included 15 years of steel rebar installation, we are proud to have Jay on our team. This extensive background in the industry gives Andrew unusual insight when designing pools for his customers.

Ron.jpg (22486 bytes)Ron Hays, Designer - We were pleased when Ron transferred his 14 years of sun room and spa construction experience to us in early 1997.  Our resident advisor on sun room additions, Ron is also the brave soul who led our "Run Now - Swim Later" Cowtown Marathon team in 1998.  The addition of Ron enhances our whole team's depth of knowledge. Ron works mainly out of our Hudson Oaks office because he lives in the Weatherford area.

Rick can be found working primarily in our Hudson Oaks location.

welty.jpg (20679 bytes)David Welty, Designer - He's a hunka, hunka burnin' designer. This occasional Elvis impersonator loves working one-on-one with our customers. But it was his background both on construction and negotiation that brought him to Pulliam. David has been designing pools since early 2000, and he listened and learned quickly. His sense of humor keeps the office smiling.

Chris Avitia, Designer, CPO (Certified Pool Operator ) - The sun is shining bright on our California native. Chris is a graduate of Chico State University with an emphasis on Art and Design. He believes that, "Every backyard pool can combine aesthetics and functionality to achieve a beautiful poolscape." Chris has 13 years experience in the pool business ranging from technical service to building. He has Level one certification from the Genesis Three program, which has further enriched his natural talent and vision. Among his strong points Chris has an eye for illusion and infinity pool concepts.

Tom Wood, Renovation Specialist, - Tom joined the Pulliam team with a multi-faceted background, ranging from finance to construction management. In an effort to spend more time outdoors and flex his outstanding people skills, Tom decided 6 years ago to take on reinventing backyard dreams. This true visionary enjoys his work, but when he’s out to play… he’s out riding horses.
Michelle Conner, Builder Representative. Michelle came to Pulliam four years ago from the home building market, so she knows her way around construction hurdles. Michelle takes on every challenge presented and diligently works toward a solution. She meets regularly with homebuilders and sales reps and has been a great addition to the Pulliam team. In addition to her outside commitments, Michelle produces a lot of Pulliam’s marketing collateral, making her an all-around asset.
