| Pulliam Pools,
Fort Worth, Texas, celebrated its 79th year in business by opening a 600
square-foot education and technology room for its consumers.
The education center features: a state-of-the-art
technology wall with the latest in convenience and automation devices,
including chlorine generators and pool cleaners; a full-size cross section
of a gunite pool; a plumbing prototype display that highlights the differences
between steel and gunite plumbing specifications; remote controllers; alternate
sanitizers; a rock-finish raised spa and a tile-finish raised spa; nine
deck samples; and various retaining wall samples, including interlocking
concrete blocks, native stone and railroad tiewall.
"Buying a pool is a mystery to most people," said
company president Barry Pulliam. |
"By taking
the mystery and apprehension out of the purchasing process, we hope to
raise the consumers' level of comfort and take the worry out of buying
a pool.
"We thought it was time to change the way pools
are sold," he continued. "To see a cross section of a pool and have it
explained to you as a consumer is like having a light of understanding
turn on in your head. The plumbing, the reinforcing steel, the structural
features - all of it makes sense when you have a support staff to help
you and answer your questions. It makes people feel good to know that they've
learned something." |
